Attendance at the 107th Anniversary Commemoration of the March 1st Movement
On Saturday, February 28, members of the Korean Senior Citizens Society of Toronto, including the President and Vice President, attended the 107th Anniversary Commemoration of the March 1st Movement, hosted by the KCCA.
March 1st commemorates the independence movement that began on March 1, 1919, at Tapgol Park in Seoul, when the Korean people united in their shared aspiration for national independence.
During the ceremony, attendees observed a moment of silence for the sacrifices of patriotic martyrs and joined in the traditional Manse cheers. They also shared rice balls prepared by the organizers, learning that these humble foods were used by independence activists to satisfy hunger and encourage one another during the movement.
The Korean Senior Citizens Society of Toronto will continue to honor our history and carry forward the spirit of gratitude.
Our mission is to create a warm and inclusive community where all Korean seniors can enjoy dignity, happiness, and a healthy, active life. We provide a variety of programs and services to ensure seniors remain socially connected and empowered, enabling them to actively participate as valued members of society.
